Artist brings Kotel Home

The artisan and artist has played a pivotal role in Jewish heritage. Bezalel created the Miskahn. He

integrated holiness with visual art. Working with many different materials and concepts Ira Saltzman

continues the tradition of expressing piety though traditional and modern art. Ira has a life long history

of beautifying Jewish culture through sculpture and painting.

Iras' menorah designs are an expression of the Jewish experience throughout the ages. Many of these

stone creations remind us of our travels though history. The Kotel series are moving and quite authentic.

Colors, texture and even the moss between stones harkens us to the feeling of awe experienced when

standing before the Kotel. This same theme is present in his bookends and desk plaque. He has blended

the essence of our history with tasteful modern artifacts. This accomplishment says much about his

talents for working with varied mediums and artistic themes.

During a recent visit to Israel Ira noticed the unique grace of the "Bridge of Strings" in Jerusalem. The

concept of the beauty of extending forms in mid air captured his imagination. As a result he created

a Menorah with lights extended from above. This original piece is a fusion of modern art with the

ancient symbol of the lights of Hanukah. This is the essence of his art work. He brings both worlds

together using imagination and wit rarely witnessed in the world of Judiac art.

Ira makes his work accessible to both the art collector and the person who is looking for a great gift or

piece to accent their home. Every piece is handcrafted and original. You can see all his unique work
